2009 Steel, glas and polycarbonat 270 x 290 x 500cm
NOTE: I AM LOOKING FOR A NEW LOCATION FOR NIMBY FROM MID-APRIL 2024 ONWARDS!! (contact rob.voerman@gmail.com if interested)
The work is initially made for Biennial Open Source in the Bijlmer-neighbourhood in Amsterdam and lateron shown at Brachen-Siedlung Culture Festival in Holland and Germany where wooden seats and an outdoor bar where temporarily added for that occasion.
In the sculpture, various different functions/references are combined: shed, nightclub, church and bar. Slightly opposing the highly controlled/designed Dutch society.
Occasionally the work will be used by local inhabitants in a somewhat informal way.
Part of the work will be, that the vegetation around the work will not be controlled and grow wild during the exhibition.
